Eminent EM1116 - Here it is the way to make it works on Windows 7!

This Serial to USB converter EM1116 Eminent with its Prolific chip PL2303 made me crazy with its driver installation error (Error 10) but now I want to help you on how to make it works! Just download the correct driver! Not the one that Eminent gives to you!

Here you are:

3D tracking and Gesture Sensing...without cameras!

Do you still think you need cameras for 3D-tracking? Ok maybe you're a little behind. Microchip offers a really cool chip! Microchip's GesticIC® is a 3D sensor technology uses electric field sensors to detect, track and classify user hand or finger.

With MGC3130 (i.e. the first device of the family) using a number of typically four-five receiver (Rx) electrodes and one transmit (Tx) electrode, the origin of electric field variations inflicted by the user's hand can be detected. Signals are processed by the GestIC® technology device in order to calculate the hand position relative to the sensing area in x, y, z data points, and classify the movement pattern into gestures in real time.

These are some features of MGC3130:
  • Recognition of 3D hand gestures and x/y/z positional data
  • High resolution of up to 150 dpi
  • Integrated digital signal processing unit
  • Low noise analog front end
  • Frequency hopping against noise
  • Digital interface
  • On-chip Colibri gesture suite
